I contacted the seller and they won't consider shipping. I wish I was close to pick up in person. Any club members near Cary, N.C. that would be willing to act as a "freight forewarder" for me? I would be forever grateful and would be willing to make it worth your effort.

My company has a store in Cary. Would the seller at least be willing to package it up for delivery? He could drop it off and just pick up the money if we get it there. I'll have to double check but I think an old friend of mine is running that store. He would be more than willing to me me a favor.

I am on the West Coast and can't help with the shipping but will say that I sold a pair of Spendor LS3/5a monitor speakers on craigslist earlier this year. I specified in the ad that I would not ship them but after getting a number of low-ball offers locally ended up selling them to someone across the country at Berklee School of Music for the price I was asking and they paid the shipping.

The SF-2 in Carey is a recent listing. The seller may more open to shipping if nobody local wants it or is willing to pay what he is asking so don't give up hope yet. Would be great, though if wf's buddy can help hook you up... good luck!

I live just down the road from Cary and would be willing to pick up and ship it. Just send me a e-mail via my profile.

Keith is closer, but if I can be of service, I'm only about 3 hours away, but got home folks down there I could go visit.

I got on the wrong Greyhound bus in Raleigh once, and wound up in Cary. Actually, what happened was the wrong driver got on my bus, thinking he was taking us to Birmingham Alabama instead of Roanoke Virginia. I saw a sign for Cary and knew we were going the wrong way. A miniature mutiny ensued...

(sorry for the funny story thread hijack)

I have shipped a couple rackmount units like this and the boxes the right size were hard to find and shipping across 2 states was around $20 easy, which was more than I expected.

Just my .02 cents of knowledge.

Did anyone grab this? I think I'm ready to pull the trigger if Keith were willing to pick up. I'll send a little something in return. =)

I did e-mail the seller earlier today. Waiting for reply...

Well, this SF-2 is FINALLY in the hands of an online bass player friend down there in NC. The seller is still looking for the power supply, then off to Chicago it goes. Can't wait!

Keith, thank you for your offer, it was just a lot easier to transfer funds and such with my friend Steve.

Tom,
No problem with using someone else. Glad to hear it is on the way. If the seller cannot come up with the power supply any wall wart meeting these specs should work.

When I recieved my used SF-2 it came with a funky old IBM laptop power supply. This thing was adding all sorts of weird artifacts to the output. Swapped it out with a universal Guitar shop purchased wall wort maxing out at 12v, and works fine now. Make sure the polarity is checked before plugging in.
Enjoy these things are Great!
Peace,
Pete

One of our sister companies here at work is an A/V installs/home theater company. They have a box full of wayward wall warts. I was able to find a couple in the 12 volt range with positive tip. It's in the hands of UPS now. =)
While I love my recently purchased Distillate, I'm dying to try this thing with my HB-1 (Ric humbuckers)equipped Rickenbacker!

The SF-2 brought my Distillate to a whole new level!
Your adventure is just about to begin.
