What a babe! That 'angled' Jazz pickup placement was common in the 80's/90's on basses from the Left side of the Pacific. Check out pics of Larry Graham's Moon Jazzes, as well as early Ibanez Soundgears, back when they were still MIJ-production in those days. http://www.moon-guitar.co.jp/jj4.html Line up a rack of Sadowsky's, Fender Custom Shop, A-c's, etc., and this thing would eat them alive.
