Folks,
As I have a couple Travis Beans that I do all my playing with, it's time for this masterpiece to find a proper home.
Available is 1975 Series I guitar, #205 in excellent condition. This is both a vintage collectible, and a great playing instrument.
All original, including the 5-pin cord, power box and some paperwork indicating a formal original dated numbered Alembic receipt for their 'electronics upgrade' roughly 10 years ago, some electronic schematics and wood/body information.
Frets and fingerboard in excellent condition.

The case is great, monster 'Anvil-type', even has the key to its lock.

It's had the 'electronics upgrade'. Included also are the old replaced electronic parts.

Notice the extra laminate at the peghead.
I don't know what the 'E167036' is on the battery cover plate.

My understanding, which may or may not be accurate, is that during this time, 10-20 basses were produced for each guitar, and that since the serial number sequencing was the same for both basses and guitars this was the 205th instrument made, meaning it would be one of their extremely early guitars.
In my mind, this is an excellent example of an extremely early instrument, yet not some 'oddball' prototype. It hasn't been modified/is all original, and is an extremely sophisticated, fully mature piece.....a true Golden Age Alembic!!

(What?! Alembic had/has a 'Golden Age'?!? Well, I don't know, but if they did, this could be from whenever it could possibly have been....?)

Anyway, why spend an arm and a leg on some modern Jerry tribute 'copy-of-sorts' ax when you can spend only an arm OR a leg on a genuine vintage piece, 1975!, that looks somewhat like The Great Gar's Tiger for instance??

There are a few finish cracks, completely stable, extremely hard to see....but I will of course provide photos to seriously interested folks with it tilted at the right angle so you'll be able to see them.

Are you Seriously interested?? Then make an offer if you're inclined or simply contact me, I'll send you more photos as you wish, only if you're seriously interested though please.

I am making it available here at this Alembic web site first.....

FYI; It will be coming from China (Nanjing, a city near Shanghai); I'm an American, 55, who happens to live here now. No problem shipping.
(And for any who happen to have any inclinations toward the weirdly esoteric, the seller, myself who also owns the Owsley Stanley belt buckle in the attached photos, happened to have been living in Tibet, academic years 2009-2011 teaching at Tibet University, at the time of Bear's Passing from a car wreck in Australia).

So what are arms or legs going for these days? The number on the battery plate is just something someone etched in, from what I know about these.

$4800, a bit negotiable, and possibly a shipping discount as well.
Though it'll come from me here in China, shipping isn't nearly as expensive as most folks think. I've already had my two Travis Beans shipped over here to me from the US.
I don't know about how the photos are so big. I'm an old geezer well on the other side of 50, sort of 'left behind' in today's technological computerized rapture, so to speak!

Bear belt buckle not for sale I'm afraid. Thanks much though for your interest!
Been keepin' my pants up since '83; we don't want 'em comin' down now! Added to give the post a bit of 'esoteric bling', so to speak...

It's a great guitar, very early vintage Series I model but still fully mature/developed(not so early that it's a bit of an oddball prototype), Beautiful wood incl gorgeous peghead laminates, overall classic coloring scheme similar to The Great Gar's pinnacle axes, had the electronics upgrade, blue power box/5-pin cord, great case, a great example of a Classic Alembic, collectible and playable.

The sellor user profile seems to 'no longer exist' on these posts?

There is a recurring problem with the forum software that causes user profiles to be deleted from time to time, and it seems to target mostly recent registrations. It does not reflect on registered_user's status or standing.

David (the seller) contacted me about his profile and we restored the user list, so you should be able to see his profile now.

After I recover from the Gathering on the 26th, I can hopefully get us migrated over to the new forum software.

Sorry about any confusion - as Adriaan said, it doesn't reflect on the status of a user at all.

Thanks Mica.
Yes, the sale of my Alembic is legitimate, though my profile, I guess now existent, is pretty much nil, low, the way I prefer, sorry. (not just here, but internet-wide....)
(And, Alembic.com, like many other completely innocuous web sites like 'Ellie Mae's knitting.....com' or whatever, is often blocked here in the good ole' Middle Kingdom (China). But then again, Alembics ARE pretty bourgeoisie and a clear threat to the Party, Mao Tse-tung Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, Common Core...wait, Common Core is Commie Washington, not Commie Beijing! Of course, if our Mandarin overlords in Beijing are wary of an electrified guitar, or bass!, being a threat to the overall stability of society, well then they may be on to something, hmmm? Just look what electrified instruments did to the West! Anyway, throughout their time, Alembics have always been the Lamborghini/Rolls-Royce of electric instruments, seriously. The peasants can't afford bread?!, then let them eat cake! Marie Antoinette said, The peasants can't afford Strats or Les Pauls?!, then let them play Alembics!'
Seriously interested parties looking for any personal information, please contact me directly; otherwise, if it's anything generally informative keep it here, open for whomever may be interested.

This baby is still for sale,...at some point I'll get around to actually advertising it a bit elsewhere on the internet, general gear/guitar sale sites, auction sites....for now all I've done is post it here.
