What do you folks think about this? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161818985148&alt=web The bridge looks legit, albeit incomplete, but I've never seen a tailpiece quite like this one on any Alembic. |

I dunno "$55.00 expedited shipping" - maybe if there were a bass attached to the bridge. I agree that the bridge looks (mostly) like an Alembic, and I agree that the tailpiece looks like a machine-shop special. Something about the machining of the bridge looks off. The patina and freshness of the grooves send the hairs on the back of my neck twitching. Maybe from a Fenandes or that ilk? Seems pretty sketchy across the board. |

Yeah, $55 for shipping is silly. Maybe they meant $5... Those Phillips head intonation adjustment screws don't look right either... of course a bridge rebuild kit would fix that. I suppose it could be a knock off, but even for a Fernandes, that bridge is a darn good copy. Come to think of it, I don't recall having ever seen a 5-string Fernandes to compare with. I've never had a reason to price a replacement bridge for an Alembic, so *strictly* an uneducated guess on my part - that $225 price is a little high for an incomplete used bridge, and a (probable) shop-night tailpiece. |
