This is almost certainly the bass Gguitars was selling a week ago. On Gguitars' site, the bass is listed as "sold". Shouldn't be hard for anyone to verify this seller is legit. Gotta figure this bass went for a song to be offered so low by this seller. Looks nice. Kind of like a standard S1 with no upgrades apparent.

again, the seller's representation that chrome hardware is an upgrade is true? i don't think it is. am i wrong? if not, why would you say that? on this bass, gold should have been the upgrade, if you ask me. in fact, for that much money, gold should be standard w/that golden top on the bass.

Auction has been closed early as other alembic dealers were complaining that the BIN was too low!

I saw the auction, but was not interested in the bass.

Do the "other" Alembic dealers have the right to complain that the BIN was too low ?

Shouldn't it be the right of the party listing the bass to put whatever price they feel comfortable selling it for ?

There was a discussion recently that the discounts that authorized dealers could offer were lowered. Alembics aren't sold by the shipload, so you should understand that the same discount rules cannot apply.

Perhaps bad news if you're on a tight budget (like me) but the only way that Alembic can stay in business maintaining the build quality that they do. You get what you pay for.

I guess it depends upon who is selling it. If they are an Alembic dealer and the item is new they have pricing controls (25% off maximum as I recall). If it is used or not an Alembic dealer I don't see where the other dealers complaints are relevant.

Does anyone know if they actually sold that thing? While the site lists it as sold, it still pops up and adds to the e-cart as if it's still available. While it's not really my style (excepting the quilt top), for that kind of deal on a new series, it might be worthwhile.
