Does anyone know anything about the white finish on this bass? It's not paint, right? Sounds the same as other finished Elan's? Never seen a white one, is this rare?

Hi, Cosmic,

I am really cautious about this. Thanks to you, I found this beautiful one on ebay. The thing that concerns me is that if you buy this baby you'll definetely get a bunch of photos as well. I have compared the photos of the three ebay auctions, and some (of the peghead, for example) appear on every offer. Sometimes, the photos were made smaller or bigger, sometimes just turned around 180 degrees, but there seems to be a pool of Elan pics every seller can access.

When I am selling basses, I produce photos myself, not use any of previous auctions. And, eventually, some owner of a stolen instrument may find his bass again which he did not on previous ebay auctions... but that is another story. Anyway, I do not feel comfortable using pics from anyone else on my ebay auctions, and so I am a little concerned about this one.

Perhaps the seller has a good explanation for that, but I got burned earlier this year, I can't help it.

have a nice time, everybody,
