I'm undertaking some deep cleaning projects around here, and strange things are liable to turn up! Instead of them just occupying dusty corners and never-looked-in boxes on shelves, these things should get out in the world and do something. I'll be offering these tidbits here first. My first little find is a lonely AXY4 pickup. This is no doubt from the 1980s, when we made quite a few of these free-form cast pickups. Originally the main color was cream, but it's more of a tan now, with black and red splatter.  Usually these are $225 each, but this guy is available for $150 as a solo act. Because of the age, we won't be able to make a perfect color match for it. You will need a preamp to make it work, unless you are just dressing up your 1-pickup Distillate or some guts you already have on hand. Otherwise I'll give you a good price on the rest of a system if you are starting from scratch. Call dibs here and email me if you want to get the first clean-up item. | ||

Mica, I'll pass on the clown spew, buy if you happen to find a pair of dusty old AXY's in brown, would you save them for my custom fretless? =) Weird, that I just posted a Spoiler with white pickups this morning and had been wondering how many variations there were. There won't be any brown AXY pickups - any brownies will be single coils, and any old ones will be here because they are defective in some way, kept only for my mini museum. I'm pretty sure there are some 5-string AXYs in black with scratches on them buried in the box. There was a really cool version Tony made in cream and red of the Rising Sun. | ||

If you find any strat style guitar pickups I'd be interested in those please Mica even if they have clown spew all over them. I'm working on upgrading a strat I built in the early 80's so shop soiled pickups would not be a problem. | ||
