Greetings Fellow Alembicians, I have in my possession a MINT 93 Essence 6 string bass that has frequented this forum before, I acquired it from a fellow on "Talk Bass" a while back, in fact I'm sure its still in the archives somewhere. She is absolutely a gorgeous instrument and by no means a standard Essence. The phone I have cannot reduce the pixel resolution less than 15.5 MP & I know that on this forum you are limited by 150 KB if I'm correct on that, I'm not sure what all that equates to but would appreciate if someone could help me out with posting some pics if not successful. Anyway what I am looking for is to trade this beauty for a Spyder, Exploiter, Dragon Wing, Buzzard or JPJ, preferably a 5 or 6 string although a 4 string would be fine. Perhaps "Spyderman" would be willing to give up some of his stash "hint hint" lol. This bass has a 34.5 inch scale, with what looks to be a AAAA quilted maple top with a mahogany or walnut accent, maple body, maple neck with walnut stringers and a insanely figured Macasara Ebony board, not sure about electronics. The serial number is 93K7826 USA if that helps. I don't have any cash to stack the deal although have a ton of gear that maybe would help even things out for the right piece if necessary. Cheers! |

This looks like a standard Essence 6 with an upgraded top and fretboard. It's going to be a stretch to get anyone to straight up swap you for a Spyder, Exploiter, Dragon Wing, Buzzard or JPJ - all of which are considerably more expensive new or used. Nice looking bass regardless. |

Hey Briant, Thanks for the reply, this is my 2nd Alembic, my first was a 93 Europa 5, I like this body style much better. Outside of the upgrades you mentioned, this is the first Alembic I have seen in this price range that didn't have a mahogany body which I thought to be upgrade as well. I realize I may have to "sweeten the pot" if someone were interested in a trade and I'm willing to do that. The good news is at least I have an Alembic again which I didn't for a while and even though this one usually stays at home when I hit the road, it's good to have one again if for nothing more than just to enjoy it in the studio and/or share it with my fellow Brethren on this forum. On a more somber note, when you don't have an Alembic after owning one, you know the difference and it's a sad, sad thing. These things really get under your skin and I for one will never be without one again! Cheers! |
