Has anyone discussed this one at all? It has been at GC for a while now... and according to the pictures (I recommend using the full-screen option), it certainly is different... The pickup selector knob is either missing or is a switch now, the three plugs (buttons?) in front of the bridge pickup are a mystery, and it sports two 5-pin Switchcraft jacks... Hmm. And it has what seems to be a tree-of-life inlay. Original? The price seems to reflect a possible admission of its "uniqueness".

Any ideas?

Pierre that store is in Kentucky which is across the river from Cincinnati where I live. I have a full day tomorrow but if I get a chance on Tuesday I will try to get over there to check it out.

Pierre when I pulled it up it showed it was in Florence Kentucky but when I checked again it is actually in a suburb of Cleveland. That's a bit out of the way for me.

It's a long scale. If it had been a medium scale, it would be sitting in my house right now.

Pierre if you know someone that lives in a city that has guitar center stores, you could probably be able to wire the money to guitar center and have the guitar shipped to a store in that persons city, have that person pick it up and ship it to you. Which should be pretty an easy turn around if you ask guitar center to pack it well for shipping. That person would just have to add your address and forward it to you without even opening it.

I asked about their policy at The Guitar Center concerning used guitar inter-store purchases. The manager said if you put down the cash, they will transfer the product to your local store, and if you don't like the bass you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.

Pierre-Yves,

It is 4499.99 dollars.

If you are thinking of having someone in the USA purchase the bass for you and ship it to Switzerland you might have to pay a sales tax in the US. If it is purchased locally there will be an Ohio sales tax. There might also be sales tax if it is sold and shipped to someone in a state that has a Guitar Center. Not all US states have sales tax. Those that do tend to run between 5 percent and 8 percent of the sales price. There would be no state sales tax if shipped directly from the seller to you in Switzerland.

Pierre If you get pictures and decide that you want to purchase the bass you could have it sent here to Cincinnati to a guitar center and I would forward it to you. I have never shippped a guitar internationally but if you want to do that send me your address and what carrier you would like to use and I will find out what the cost would be to ship it so that you can factor that in to your cost. I have no idea if there are any tarriffs or duties for it to enter your country, or whether they are paid on this end or your end. Just let me know?

The bass is in Houston, TX. It says so in the Guitar Center listing. Also, I spoke with them on the phone at that store in Houston a couple of weeks ago, to verify that it was long scale.

When I look at the listing it says it is in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and lists an Ohio phone number.

I'm in Ohio that's why I offered. Mayfield is a Cleveland suburb. I wonder why they would list it there if it's in Texas?

Keith,

I clicked the link at the top of this thread and it says Houston, TX. In addition, I called the phone # listed, which is a Houston, TX phone #.

Weird... when I click the link in the first post it shows...

"Located at Guitar Center Mayfield (440) 461-0300"

It also shows an option to pickup in Emeryville (CA) if I were to buy since that is my local store.

Nice looking bass!

Paul,
That's weird as the link takes me to a page that has it in the Mayfield store. It also says I could have it delivered to Raleigh in 3-7 days.

I have had very good experiance with the Guitar Center shipping. They pack very well and the rates are beyond reasonable when shipped store to store.
