Brian,

Is that a good value for this bass? Looks like it's in pretty good condition, although all the pics are from a distance.

That is one beautiful Distillate... that birdseye maple is the stuff. Umm-mmm-mmm. <smack> Sorry, I started daydreaming about my custom again, the electronics of which were very much influenced by a Distillate. =)

I think $2k is a pretty good buy, provided it's unaltered straight stock.

If the bass is in as good condition as they claim I would think that would be a fair deal. I haven't seen many Distillates in really good condition going for less than $2,000 and some going for a whole lot more (now whether these expensive ones were sold or not is another question entirely).

I'd agree with Greg the birdseye is beautiful, though I have to admit nothing tops Jerry's beauty.

birdseye maple at its best

"Shamrock" is a beauty for certain, and Brian's (moongerm) recent "Bird of Prey" custom has some fantastic figuring too. Although I've not seen it yet, I'm told by those who have, the maple in mine is quite spectacular too. I didn't pick it out or anything - really didn't want to, just sent a couple pictures of some classic Alembics that I really like to the ladies out there for reference.

This Distillate just has that classic Alembic look... my first experience was a Distillate 5-string, maybe that's why they speak to me so well.

At $2,000, I'd get it while the getting is good!

That's a beautiful Distillate. The density of the birds eye is intense which makes it nice to look at. Also the pickups have been replaced by newer ones and that's a plus. It's definitely worth at least $2k. Mine was very similar, bought it and sold it for $2100.

For whatever it's worth there is ~1/2 hour left and the bid is still $2K. If I didn't have a Distillate I'd be all over this!
Wonder what final bid will be.
SuperBowl Sunday may get someone a great deal!

This beautiful creature went for $2369. Somebody got a nice one for a pretty decent price.
