(LINK to KS's specifications and stats: http://www.kensmithbasses.com/models/bsrb/bsrb.html) Birthday - 1991 Scale length - 34.00 Neck - 3 piece Maple, bolt-on, 24 frets Fingerboard - Rosewood Nut width - 1.540 24th fret width - 2.493 Truss rods - Single, dual-action Body material - Swamp Ash (upgraded from standard Alder) Body depth - 1.556 Finish - High gloss polyester Pickups - Smith Humbucking 'J' Style Controls - Smith BT Active 2 Band EQ Circuit with Individual Bass & Treble Cut/Boost, Pickup Blend , and Master Volume Control with Active By-Pass Bridge - Smith Quick String Release (QSR) Bass Bridge machined from Solid Brass - Black Strap Pins - Dunlop Locking Machine heads - Smith Custom Tuners Weight - 8.0# (light!) This is a great bass! Super-light, very versatile preamp (bright, snappy tone that can be subdued to reggae-approved levels of thump), super-low action, very thin neck with little string-taper, HIGH attention to detail (look at the interior of the truss rod cavity!), deceivingly easy access to the higher frets (of which have very little wear)... It certainly is a great bass. The Japanese models are known for their excellent quality. A number of dings are present, as shown in the photos (http://www.talkbass.com/threads/1991-ken-smith-burner-deluxe-4-japan.1206044/). No playability issues, of course; purely cosmetic. I will have several interesting things for sale in the coming months. Stay tuned. Paypal accepted (add 1.5%) at gbh82@yahoo.com. Will also accept M/O, Cahiers, personal (must clear), cash; free shipping to the ContiUS and $50usd credit to outside US sales! Thanks for looking! |
