Hard to tell if this bass matches the description of known, stolen instruments, but the seller says he bought it at police auction, which I find suspicious:

what pickups are those?

This looks to me as if it originally had Persuader electronics with P/J pickups. When you clean the picture up a bit you can see that the neck pickup is a J type with a large collar around it. I'm guessing the large collar is to cover up where the routing orignially was for the P type pickup. There are just three controls which also suggests this was originally Persuader electronics; thus the controls would have been volume/volume/filter. The knob on the filter is not stock; it may just be a replacement for a broken knob, or the electronics may have been altered.

OMG, that neck p'up looks horrible! How bad could the "P" p'up have been in order to butch this bass like that? Between that and the missing S/N, it'd have to be priced like a gimme in order for me to take it home! Just my $0.02.
