Can anyone tell me why an 70's F-2B just sold on Ebay Sunday for $780? It was from the original owner, but that seems steep.
Thanks.

If I had $780, I would pay that for the right one. I would like to find one with the large Fenderesque power switch on the rear and the jewel on the front instead of the LED. It would have San Francisco written on the back, and it's serial number would be less than 144.

But, they really are all the same. I am just being silly.

I was watching that one too and wondering the same thing. I actually went back and carefully reread the description because may I thought I had missed something like "This is actually David Gilmour's F2B". There appears to be a pretty stable pricing on F2Bs ($300-$350) and for one to go for more than double that is kinda crazy. There have been at least 5 units on ebay in the last month that went at the "normal" price.

(I was watching because I was looking to get either an F2B or an F1X. I grabbed an F1X off ebay a few days ago for $399 and it should be here Wednesday :-) (now I need a power amp))

Wow! People must really think those old one's are the sh*t...I paid WAY less than that for brand-new with a warrantee and delivered to my door.

I wish I'd seen F-2B's, at least late-model ones, go for $350 or less on EBAY...I've seen $450 and up...new ones are $1050MSRP and going up for New Year's.
