It's gorgeous!

Medium scale and that price will not draw too many bidders, though, IMHO. Big dollar stuff is hard to resell. I'd be looking to order new to my own specs. for that amount. Just my $0.02

Cheers,

Yeah it looks real nice, they shoud have put it up BEFORE christmas.........now we're all broke from buying all those nice presents for everyone...........LOL

Kevin I can agree with that.......... they just might have to drop that price a bit to move it.

If it was mine I wouldn't be selling it unless I was in DIRE need of $$$$.

Hey Kevin,
Have gig pics from its debut at Crossroads on 12/17, have to get the pics developed tho.........

trying to record some tracks soon with it.......but I've been working on mixing one bands demo and learning new material and brushing up on some other material.

No Jeff its missing 2 strings..........LOL

:o)

I used my Series I fiver on three of the songs before the new got here.

My Triple O is just awesome !!!

oh yeah in the description the seller says he has 3 Alembics and can't justify keeping all 3.......if he's selling this one I wonder if the other 2 look as good as this one does.......would be a hard decision.

I think this is the same bass that was originally posted on the Alembic store -

http://store.yahoo.com/alembic/serimedscal.html

It's a beautiful instrument, but $16k...? Count me out...

Maybe...but it appears to me that the one on Ebay has gold-plated hardware and Series II electronics...plus the top and back are slightly different. Just my $0.02.

Right you are...the one on the yahoo store is an S1, not an S2...also the one on the yahoo store has 2 purpleheart neck lams, the one on e-bay has 3.

I got suckered in by the medium scale! You don't see too many medium scale basses these days, unless they're custom ordered. Personally, I LOVE them...

An Alembic in practically any scale is a winner IMHO, but medium scale instruments are histrically a tough sell. Couple that with pricing in Harley's territory makes this one a s-l-o-w mover IMHO.

Still, it sure is a purty piece!

Also the Triple O in the store had soft pointed horns, the one on E-bay has sharp horns.

Why do these Ebayers often forget to do a closeup body front shot? Especially when you have wood like this one?

I like when some Ebay sellers have only one picture or no pictures of the back of instruments.

Makes me think.......what are they hiding ?

the instruments I've had on Ebay always had at least 6 pictures........closeup of front and back of body, front and back of headstock/neck and full front and back views.

Hey, I only live about 15 miles from Middletown, DE. If someone is really interested in purchasing the bass I would be happy to go and check it out.

Steve:

That's very kind of you, but I'm afraid you may not have any takers at that inflated price.

I wouldn't let that stop you from going over and trying it anyway...it sure is a nice piece, price not withstanding...lie and say it's for someone else, LOL!

Kevin
