Greetings,
I am taking offers on my 77' series I 4-string. Great shape, especially for it's age. Point body shape. Streaked walnut top and back, mahogany core, maple neck with purple heart laminates, zebrawood headstock over&under-lay and paduk fretboard. Oval MOP inlays, straight fast neck. Comes with OHSC in blue, no power supply. All original!! great bass but looking for 5 string to suit my needs. Any Alembic trades considered. Can be seen in artist with Alembic section under Mark O'Connor, also e-mail me for better pictures(in progress now)
Thank You,
-Ed

Man oh man!.

I really must stop looking at this whole 'For Sale' thread until my situation starts to improve.

It's bloody agonising!.

Simon ....I know EXACTLY how I feel.
Follow me in the E-bay mantra that would be very appropriate here: "there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one, there will always be another one,..."
Reciting sitting on the top of your table, closing your eyes and breath deep ...concetrating on ihale ...exhale ...inhale ...exhale ...

Ah ! but simon is in the position where he had an Alembic and then let her go. I'd hate to be in that position and still be compelled to read these threads;-(
Good luck with your search Simon.

Paul,

In situations like this I resort to a spot of tantric breathing to 'restore inner harmony' but it hasn't been working for me.But now I have your mantra to chant I'm feeling better alrea....

...Actually,no I'm still miserable but I promise I'll work on it. ;o) Thank you for sharing that with me.

Graeme,

You're absolutely right and I was a fool.What can I say mate?.Is there a word for my Alembic related masochism?.Other than stupidity,I mean,LOL.

Masochist- "Hurt me,hurt me!".

Sadist- "No"

(Sorry guys,I'm waffling now!)

I really hate contributing to someone else's agony, but the older Series basses have a unique allure...le style, c'est l'homme.
com'n guys, put yourself in the above photo, can't you feel it, you know you can......

if this is any consolation, you're not alone in your Almebic-misery...sweet looking bass and I'm regretting I don't have a five string to bargain with... :-(

I'm with you on that.I have some nice basses but I have a use for all of them.Plus I know how much I'd regret selling any of them - even if did enable me to fund my Alembic dream.

It can be excructiating watching some of these basses go by. "Alembic dream", I've worked and re-worked up so many combinations in my head that I've given up designing the perfect one...I'd need several to scratch my itch. Balancing vanity and function can be difficult. At least it's a pleasant torment. For now, mine does everything I need it to.

For anyone considering this bass, I've dealt with Ed in the past. He's fair and true to his word.
