We were chatting about this one in another thread. I have emailed the seller and am awaiting a reply. I am interested, but I am concerned about payment terms.

Still no response from the seller to my query so I am sending another question. This one may go into the buyer beware category if the seller doesn't respond.

A check of this "seller's" feedback reveals absolutely no eBay activity for the last 5 1/2 years! I'd be VERY careful with this one.

Well, the serial number is 02L12818 and the seller claims to be the original owner. One of the questions I asked was if he/she would contact Alembic to authenticate that he is the owner and is selling. That would be enough for me. If the guitar really went back to the factory for graphite saddles, they should know who it is.

I'll post again in a day or two about the result of my attempts to make contact.

We indeed did make a set of graphite saddles for a Skylark owner.

This guitar has been on Ebay before, less than a year ago. I don't think the minimum bid was met that time. I am in Seattle and was toying with notion of asking if I could play it. But with no real intention of buying my conscious took over.

I've been watching this too. Probably legit, but one can't help get nervous with a private account. Also, according to feedback this guy has never sold anything before, only bought.

Being in the market for a Skylark, and again this is very likely a legit listing, this is just too risky for me.

I wish the seller would just respond to a query. It looks like several of us would start a bidding war over this guitar if we could confirm that the seller is legit. He's probably going to either fail to sell the guitar or leave some money on the table. On the other hand, if it is a scam, then he's doing everything just right. :-(

Jon; I think you could reasonably say that you would like to see the guitar on behalf of someone who is very interested in it.

Still no response from the seller. I am having a really hard time believing this is a legitimate sale! If anyone has any info to say otherwise, please speak up.

Thanks!

Frankly, bsee, I'd just forget it. There will always be another. Then again, that's me (I promise I'm not one of the bidders...haha).

It's all too easy to think, "but it's such a good chance...."

These days I figure, you never know! Might be another one listed next week, might find one locally, and hell, I might just shell out for a new one! Some chances are best not taken. Just my two cents.

This guy has three guitars on Ebay all ending at the same time. If this is a scam, he will rack in over $5000. I am a serious bidder and have been in the market for a Skylark for about a year. This one looks to good to be true and I will sit this one out along with all you other cats.

It's a seller's market for Skylarks right now. It seems demand is quite high for a legit seller!
