Was wondering when I'd finally see one of these for sale.

Nice, but it's still just an Ibanez. You can get a fairly decent custom Alembic "cowboy fancy" of your own for that kind of dosh. Personally, I'd order an Alembic. Sorry Bobby.

The listing states:

"The guitar comes with an invoice which is without vat, the price you buy is the price you pay, no vat reduction!"

You know, I was all ready to pay the BIN price of $7,290.00, and then I noticed that even if I spend all that money, I still can't get my vat reduced!!!! My vat has been putting on a lot of weight lately - it's really becoming quite the porker. And it's getting so large that I'm afraid it soon won't fit in its box. My vat needs to be reduced and this seller won't let it happen. "No vat reduction" - oh yeah, well just for that I'm NOT buying this guitar!!!! LOL

Bill, tgo

P.S. This guitar was released just a few months ago. The original MSRP was $6,666

P.P.S. What's a "vat"?

Geezz, I was gonna buy it too, until saw that MSRP. All those 6's, eewweeee. I'd be afraid the roof would cave in if I played it at church!

VAT is here in Europe Value Added Tax.
In GErmany it's 18% for musical instruments in Belgium 21%.

Why is this so important?
When you would buy a guitar out of a store here in Belgium -apart from discounts- you have to calculate (price/121)x 100 to get the price ready for export to the US.
Of course on your side you can be confronted with import taxes and local taxes ...I dunno and don't forget the transport.
So what the store here points out is that for you Americans it IS ALREADY the NETTO price! So for all those wiseguys your side of the pond who are starting up their pocket calculators to do the price/118X100 trick ...no way!(It is 118 in this peticular case because the store is German). So above the given price you have to add: transport, insurance, import, local ...whatever!

Can you imagine what is is for us to buy stuff in the US???
The inverse is true!
We have to ADD to the sum we bought 21% VAT, import taxes and transport!
The "good deal" Alembic at 1000,-$ in Des Moines will be here: 1000$ + transport and insurance 150$= 1150$ is in Euro's about 990,- € + 8% import tax and 21% VAT = about 1210,- € or a value of 1500$.
Amazing huh??

It all seems crazy to me. You work hard and pay income tax on your hard earned money. You save up to reward yourself for all your hard work. Go to buy a nice guitar, pay sales tax then you have to pay a VAT for the right to purchase a tool used to earn your money in the first place.
WHAT A VISCIOUS CIRCLE!

Bill,

I suppose you could go to a loan shark for the money. But then if you figure in the vig it probably won't cover the vat...oy vey!!!
