...for a mere $6K. Pity, as it's pretty:

Think he'll spend $14 for the missing knob?

We sent them a hat knob recently - I guess it's already on this instrument but maybe it was for another.

I looked at this bass online with a customer about a week ago. Some things I noticed:

1. Pickups have 2-hole mounting, suggesting this is an early build

2. Nut is adjustable, suggesting if it is an early build that it was added later

3. Bridge looks like the current version.

4. Finish looks too new for the pickups

5. Fretlines weren't an any 2-hole pickup mounted instruments that we remember, so probably done later, but memories aren't perfect

6. Looks like there are holes for a truss rod cover, which wouldn't be on an early build.

So, it seems like a bass that was an early build, but was later modified. But without a serial number, these are just educated guesses.

The customer had played the bass, and I think he said it also had side LEDs, but they aren't mentioned in the listing.

Ed sez the knob has been replaced...no mention of the cable, though. I noticed those discrepancies too, Mica...definitely an interesting instrument. He clearly said it was an '82 after I guessed early '80s based on the serial number.

Looks like it has dual truss rods, which would mean that it's not an early build. So the two hole pickups would have been a custom order. Mystery bass!
