Not cheap for an Essence, but then this is one of those basses where it's almost something else, but the electronics seem to steer it to the model name.

But, its a whole BUNCH of Essence, not typical, and one you won't see many other like it: Balance K Omega, Crown head, matching NICE quilt, and don't underestimate the comfort of the elbow rollover and the tummy cut. Plus if you MUST have a 35" scale, this and the ROGUE are the two shapes that will accomodate this length in a comfortable, manageable instrument.

Just for fun, I ran the stats through the quote generator.

If this bass is in like-new condition, and if you really wanted a Balance K with a nice quilt, then this is a pretty good price. A new bass like this one will run you a couple thousand more. And if you wanted a bass like this but with Europa or Signature electronics, you could send it back to Alembic for an upgrade and still come out way ahead of a new order.

I would make sure the hardshell case is an Alembic case.
