I'm primarily a 5 string player, so my beautiful SC deluxe is a bit of a luxury, that isn't being used like it should. I'm after a really nice 6 string, Ken Smith or Roscoe. Or it's for sale for £2500.00 or $4250.00. ono. Here's a picture of it. |

Hi, I came over to check out your Alembic 4 String Orion bass last year. I remember you saying you didn't want to sell that Alembic SC you have and I know it's in fab condition. But that Clarkee you are selling looks a dream.... I may call you over the week for a look I would like an SC strung as a tenor bass. Cheers Jazzyvee (Message edited by jazzyvee on April 24, 2006) |

Hi You'd be most welcome, did you play it last year I can't remember. I'm actually in two minds about selling it. I've played 5 string for some years, I used to have a 5 string Wal, then I went back to 4. I've recently bought a 5 string Roscoe, and that's become my main bass. I mainly play in a jazz trio, and the 5 suits the music, so this is just sitting at home, which doesn't feel right. Cheers Kevin |

Hey Kevin, This is kind of an "outside chance" scheme, but I know where I could get my hands on an '04 Smith BSR6M that's described as "virtually unplayed," with case, Smith strap etc. Maybe we could work out some sort of cross-Atlantic trade? Shoot me an e-mail if you're feeling adventurous... |

If memory serves me right, you were looking at buying Status King bass last year? No I didn't play it last year as I already had a SC Deluxe and didnt want to torment myself by playing a bass that I couldn't have. Since then I have bought an Europa 5 which I can only describe as awesome. All the best with the sale. You don't see many basses like that for sale in the UK never mind the Midlands. Jazzyvee |

By the way Kevin, I do a Jazz radio programme in Brum so if you want your jazz gigs listed in my weekly gig guide, then just drop me an email and I'll happily include them. Cheers jazzyvee |

Cheers. Have a look on www.bassworld.co.uk go on to the general bass discussion section, and then the Birmingham bass collective thread. There's a picture of me taken last Saturday morning, at Rich bitch studios holding two of them, what a moment. The other belongs to a lad from Rugeley in Staffordshire. If you are interested in it then get in touch. What station are you on, and when. All the best Kevin |

I guess that would be 3:00 on the East Coast of the US (or is it 4:00; I used to be able to remember things like that). I have to work this Monday, but I really would like to hear your show some time. I'll just have to try and remember that there's something I really want to do on a Monday afternoon sometime soon! |

Yes Dave it is 3PM EDT. The UK observes daylight savings time as I recall. Keith |

keith - we call it British 'Summer' time! Guess that's why it doesn't last too long ;-) Graeme p.s. sorry for the brief hijack kevin. if it had been a 5 string I'd have come down for a look. |

Well Graeme that makes more sense than daylight savings time. I still can't figure out where all of the daylight we are saving goes. :-) Keith (Message edited by keith_h on May 02, 2006) |
