Not a bad price if you like painted basses; although might be a bit banged up.

ALEMBIC ESSENCE 4 String Bass

This is an excellent bass for any player looking for killer feel and a HUGE amount of sounds. Alembic makes one of the best basses on the planet and this one is no exception.

Features:

-24 Fret Maple Neck with Walnut laminates
-Unmarked Ebony Fretboard
-Solid Mahogany Body
-Alembic Pickups and electronics
-Solid brass hardware
-All Black Paint job

I have the paperwork from Alembic stating all of the custom build materials and original order information. This bass was ordered and played by the bassist of Type O Negative and has been definitely used on the road. Cosmetically it has some issues but plays and sounds fantastic. Comes with un-original hardshell case.

I believe the bass in the picture is a Spoiler.

Maybe it's this bass.

This guy(Peter Steele)was at a gig we played at L'Amour's in Brooklyn back in '99. He and about ten others invaded our dressing room, ate our food and drank our beer. Very un-cool. Oh well when there's no security that's ROCK AND ROLL!

Oh man L'Amours! I would've loved to play there. Got to go just before it closed. What a spot.

I just threw that picture of the spoiler in there because I think using a chain as a strap is pretty tough. Imagine if it's a 15 lb. Series? Ouch!

Actually the acoustics were horrible (on stage and off!). The staff was very cool to us though. We used to play New York and Long Island quite a bit. Loved it every time, I just dig the people there.

Perhaps it's a Essence with a Spoiler body?

Nope, it's a Spoiler.
