I got this bass not too long ago from my boss..I paid $900 for it, which seemed like a good price, and still does. It's an '83, plays great, as should it. Afterall, it's an Alembic, right?
I posted some pictures on an earlier thread in the "troubleshooting" section with some questions about how to go about repairing the hole, so if I don't trade/sell this thing sometime in the near future, I'll probably end up making a pickguard of maple or something to cover it. Anyway, the rest of the bass is in pretty good shape, with the normal wear you'd find on a 23 year old instrument.

I've been talking to a guy about trading him this bass, if he's interested, as well as some cash, for his Alembic. I'm still waiting on his email response, but I figured I'd ask. He said to make him an offer for his bass, and I dont want to offer too little by thinking this thing is worth more than it really is. Thanks in advance.

I will be selling this bass soon. I have bought a maple veneer and am going to make a pickguard to cover the hole. Just giving you guys a heads up incase anyone's interested. Email me with any questions/offers.

I wouldn't modify it if I were you. It's already got enough damage, but it's not so bad that if the right person got it, it couldn't be restored.

Value is probably not much better than $600 or so. These are plentiful in good condition for their age in the $900-1100 price range, so you'd have to find a bargain hunter to buy one that's a bit chewed up and modified.
