I suppose it's about time to put this thing up for sale. I'm sure some of you have read the previous posts I've made concearning this bass, and the damage done to it. Anyway, here are some pictures... A post regarding some of the damage can be found here: http://alembic.com/club/messages/394/28613.html?1149557063 From what I can gather, someone was changing around the electronics and broke something, causing the hole. As far as I know, most of the electronics (pickups, pots, switch, etc) are original. There is 1 volume knob, and 1 tone knob, which has a built in wah effect once it is turned past 5. There is also a 3 way pickup selector switch. Other than the damage at the bottom of this bass, there isn't really anything else wrong. The nut is a little loose, but I haven't taken it off to see why. The hole may be stripped out or something like that, which would be an easy fix. There are the typical dings here and there, as there are on most older instruments. On the good side, this bass, regardless of the hole, plays and sounds like a dream. It is by far the best sounding bass I've ever owned. The only reason I'm selling it is to buy another Alembic from another club member. I bought this bass from my boss, for $954.00, which was a pretty good deal. If possible, I would like to get at least that much out of it. I have only owned it for 4-5 months. I have ordered a maple veneer, and am planning on making a pick guard type of cover for the left side of the body, to cover the hole and also to give it some originality, however, I will wait until the bass is sold to put it on. If the buyer doesnt want it on, then so be it. \ Please email me at SYPHONATION@HOTMAIL.COM with offers. Aks questions here though, so others can possibly have their questions answered before they ask ;) All offers will be considered. I am guessing that shipping will be around $30-35 to lower 48 US states. Anywhere else, I will have to check. Thanks! (Message edited by lysosome on June 07, 2006) |
