I have been eyeing this baby, but with 5 days left, I think it may sell for more than it is worth; or at least more than I am worth! Price seems high to me already for this bass, I am sure there are many of you out there that are more expereinced with Distillate valuation. What say you?

I believe the Distillate was the first model of bass made after the Series I & II. Essentially it has Europa electronics (pickup selector vs. pan) so the tone range is fantastic, purpleheart lams too. It is an '84 so it will have the shorter upper horn (was made slightly longer in '85). The one on EBay is beautiful and should go for a good dollar. I expect the $1500 - $2000 range... just my guess though, valuation is only what someone was willing to pay at that time.

Back in '99 I bought my first Distillate for six and a quarter.

A bit more than I expected but it is also an amazing example of the Distillate.
Easszy, $625? that is a great price, even for 1999. Give your Distillate a hug today, it's obviously appreciating in value better than most investments out there!

Wow, if this is a trend, I'm glad I got my Distillate when I did! Maybe people are starting to realize what a bargain these old Distillates are. That was my conclusion from my research on all the models. The set of features on a Distillate are roughly comparable to a Rogue or Europa, but the Distillates sell for far less. That's part of why I chose that model. It is a lot of bass for the dollar! I'm just glad I got mine before everyone else started realizing this!
