Ok guys..I've tried to sell this before and I suppose I was asking too much. I've been talking to someone reciently about buying his bass, and it's time for me to get serious and save up some money. Now, it's going to take me a while to save some cash, so I dont want to let this go just yet, just so I have something to play until I get this other bass. But, if anyone's interested, let me know now and I'll hold the bass for you. Below are some links with info and pictures. If you have any questions that arent answered in the links, ask away.

New asking price is $700 including shipping. I'm aiming to save $1500, so I cant go much lower on the price.

Please email me to discuss buying this bass. Thanks!

Hi Jimmy, good luck with your sale. Sounds like a good deal for a nice bass.

I recently paid $1000 for an old Spoiler (84) sight unseen on a fellas word it was nice. It arrived with extensive finish issues which broke my heart.

I was considering dumping her when I took her to a few jobs. WOW! They are great working basses with all the Alembic cache, sound and feel, with a minimum of the expense. She is one of my favorite basses and I have collected a few over the years.

My thought is you may want to consider keeping her if you do not get a good price. I understand you are a young struggling musician, but I suspect this will be a move you regret later, as I have many times over the years. You let an excellent piece fly that you cannot duplicate for twice the money.

Hey, sorry about all the wind from this old windbag. I bow to the individual right to search for "your" bass that works for you. At least you are looking at another Alembic. I think you could end up spending thousands more for less bass if you looked anywhere else.

Best of luck!

I understand what you mean completely Gary. Indeed, this is a great bass. It's the best sounding, fastest, best feeling bass I've ever played. However, I am just a little bummed that it has so much chop work done to it. I don't mind the hole at all really, but I don't care much for the electronics (again, they sound good, but not original). And believe me, I wouldn't trade this bass for any other bass, no matter the cost, unless it too was an Alembic. After owning an Alembic, I really can't see myself ever owning another kind of bass.
With that said, the Alembic that I'm looking at is a one-of-a-kind, as it is an employee project from way back when. It being so unique is one thing that attracts me to it so much. Also, it is equipped with Anniversary electronics, which arent original to that specific model, but it will give me so many more tone and effect options than this Spoiler.
I know what youre saying Gary, and I can relate. It's going to be hard for me to let this bass go, but I know that when I get the new one, it will be worth it.

Thanks for your input :-)

bass still for sale.

btw - as I told LG71, shipping the bass internationally is going to cost the buyer more, for the simple fact that shipping on a large item overseas isn't cheap. For this reason, I probably will not be willing to ship internationally, unless it's to Canada.
