I just had my Carl Thompson bass on ebay- and had a $6,500 dollar reserve-- mine is a six string..The bids grew to $6.300 in 2 days, then stalled, and my reserve wasn't met..The highest bidders then contacted me to buy it out of the jurisdiction of Ebay, for over a thousand less than their highest bids, which i refused..I have learned that a Carl Thompson Bass is the greatest investment..I have showed Carl my Alembic many times, and he appreciated the artistry, and i am sure that the folks at Alembic would feel the same way about Carl's work. Finally, if anyone on this board buys this, Carl is a good friend of mine, and i can connect you with him, should this bass need to be repaired...
