Hello again! I decided to go Alembic exclusive... I'm selling my Black 1976 Gibson the Ripper Fretless. These basses are very rare, only 898 fretless Rippers were shipped between 1976 and 1979 of which 352 in ebony (Black) so very rare indeed... I'm pretty sure it's a '76 because of the pots, there's one from week 50 or 51 1975 and one from week 13 1976 serial number is 450090 In '76 Gibson shipped 95 Black fretless Rippers. Here it is: I'd like to trade this bass for a Elan, please no more Spoilers.... If there's anyone in Europe preferable from Holland, Germany or Belgium who wants to part with his/her Elan please let me know! I don't really mind what state it's in as long as it's an Elan. If you're not interested in the Gibson I'll try to sell it and if I do I'll buy your Elan. Here's another picture of me with the Gibson: The only non Alembic I'm keeping is my Fender Prodigy. Some day I will put Alembic P/J pickups/electronics in it, just to stay on track...-LOL- Cheers! F.C. More pictures? Please click here (Message edited by fc_spoiler on July 24, 2006) |

I borrowed one of those from a friend back around 1980 when my basses were stolen. It was the first time I had really played fretless and it was surprisingly good both in terms of sound and feel. I think I played it for most of a year before I found something I wanted to buy. Good luck with your trade! -bob |

Sorry to hear your basses were stolen back then... did you get any back? The picture of me is taken at a gig where I played the Gibson only. We played some U2 songs, Eagles, Black Sabbath etc. The Gibson didn't let me down, great sound! Cheers! F.C. and thanx for the good luck! |

Nah - never get anything back. I have lost some great stuff to crooks over the years, but life goes on. |
