I am updating my rig with the intent of doing away with the POD XT. Does anyone have a good compressor pedal that they no longer use? Looking to get something in my hands prior to the weekend. I am thinking EBS, Demeter, Analog Man - something like that. |

I don't have one so not much use. However, Mike Pisanek has just added an Aphex bass exciter stomp pedal to his set up and his sound on Saturday was exceptional. The increase in punch and presence was very obvious. One of the best pub band Bass tones I've heard in a long time. Graeme (Message edited by jacko on August 21, 2006) |

Thanks for the recommendation on the Aphex. I saw several people praise it for tone, but there is a question about construction/reliability. If I had seen one back when I was looking for a good deal, I probably would have given it a shot. I picked up a used Trace SMX dual compressor pedal a few days after the original post and it seems to work quite well. I think I may still keep an eye out for a super deal on a Demeter, but I will stick with this one other than that. |
