Hello! I am new to this site and am interested in finding a Mark King Alembic or Series I/II? I have several highend basses and would like to discuss trades and or purchases. Prefer 4 string basses, cocobolo or walnut tops preferred but others okay. My inventory includes Zon, Modulus, Rickenbacker, Musicman. Any tips or leads will be most appreciated. Thanks.

Talk about timing. One of the members here just sold a coco bolo Series I on eBay. As I type this, there's a maple Series I and a coco bolo Mark King at the Alembic Store. You might also check the web sites of a couple of the better dealers. GGuitars is usually good for having Series I instruments in stock. Likewise Bass Central. Welcome to the club and good luck on your search!!

Wow....Sorry Matt, I got a little too excited while helping you look for a M.K. Deluxe and actually purchased the one at www.superbass.net that I recommended to you earlier. I totally surprised myself and will try to maintain better control as I find others for you.
I will keep looking and keep you posted.

Hi Matt, I spotted an awesome MK Deluxe at www.basscentral.com/ that has the Omega Heart cut out and looks really nice. Beaver Felton is co-owner of this store in Florida and I am pretty sure they will consider trades.
Good Luck,
Clay

Matt,

You may also want to contact omegaheart81 on this board. He may have a Series I available.

Thanks everyone for your help in my search. I've decided to take a trip down to Bass Central and play all of their Alembics to try and find "the one". I originally (and still do) like the look of the Mark King model but the Essence and Rogue models are growing on me too. I can't wait to get down there and play them. If they sound as good as they look, I hope I can keep it to just one!

Thanks for the leads and info everyone. I picked up Bass Central's (now mine) Mark King 4 string this past weekend and am just floored by how amazing this instrument looks and sounds. I really loved their Rogue's also, but wanted to get a 4 string rather than a 5. Thanks again. Here's a pic I took this morning. Mark King Stnd 4
