Hey Mike, I see the Europa is on EBay. It's a beauty, if I didn't already own an walnut Orion with Europa electronics, I would be interested. I see my Distillate peeking out behind it in one picture. Best of luck with the auction and hopefully it will land in a good home! Keep in touch. |

Hey Paul, I hope your enjoying the Distillate! I miss it's unique tone. So warm and round. My wife and kids keep telling me that they wish I'd never sold it! How odd? I have two beautiful Series 2's and yet they seem to pine over that Distillate. Just goes to show you... that Alembic magic seems to be in everything that they make! |

Hi Mike, I'm surprised the family liked the Distillate over your Series Basses, they must feel sorry for the poor "step child" bass (compared to your others that is...) Unfortunately, I have not seen the Distillate for a very long time; I sent it to the mothership in May to get some new hardware and an electronics upgrade. The crew is way behind schedule and repairs/upgrades are at the bottom of the list, so I'm not sure when to expect it back, but I get to see pictures of it on your EBay auction for the Europa! I can't beleive some lefty has not grabbed your Europa already, a gently used high end lefty Alembic is hard to find. Someone is missing a great opportunity... |

If only I was a lefty, it WOULD BE MINE!!! AH HA HA HA HA!!!!! BTW, I kind of miss my Distillate too, my first Alembic, got it for a song and it was in pristine condition. Reason for selling?, looks are'nt everything and it just did not inspire me to the extent to where I had to keep it. |

Hey Paul, I'm curious, What kind of upgrades are you having done? Low noise upgrade? I thought those were only for series electronics. Mike |

Mike, congrats on the sale of the Europa, I hope it went to a good home. I am having the nut, bridge & tailpiece replaced on the Distillate, as you know, some bonehead strung it righty and cut, filed & chopped away pieces (very poorly) to accomodate backwards stringing, it was driving me nuts. Also, the crew is upgrading the circuit board while they have it. |
