In the description, the seller mentions seeing the 'real' wolf backstage at a DSO show...I would think 'Wolf' would be enjoying retirment.

The wolf also made an appearance here in Denver with DSO, but I was in California when that happened (and in Boulder when it was in SF). However, I did get to play an outrageous Further at Alembic. Whoever is getting it will be very very very very very happy!

Jeff Flaxman, and I saw Wolf at a Phil & Friends show at Bimbos in S.F. Scott Law, (see "Owl" in the COTM archives), got to play Wolf at a P&F show at Red Rocks. Phil announced on his web site that Wolf had been donated to his Unbroken Chain foundation. I wonder how it wound up with DSO, or if the DSO Wolf is even the real Wolf.

As for the ebay listing BEWARE. The description is lifted directly from Phil Gawen's Phiga site, including the options!

"top black ebony or quilted maple, cr/bl binding, eagle/moon or just the eagle"

Also, the description decribes the woods used in the "Wolf inlay", yet the pictures show no such inlay.

I have a Phiga Casta, a picture of which is on the Phiga site. Phil makes nice instruments, but there in no comparison to Alembic.

Scott plays once a month at the tavern I live next door to. I usually take a peak through the window, if he's playing Owl - I am in there. Last night he had his acoustic, so I got some rest. Owl is absolutely amzing sounding, I was in total disbelief of the acoustic tones that were coming out of it.

The seller's location is South Windsor CT, and he also has some Telefunken stuff listed as well.... I think he might be someone I know or someone he works with.... Im gonna say it's legit, if not it would only take a couple of phone calls....

Phil has quite a few Tigers, Bolts and Wolf's for sale on his site. If anyone wants one I would go directly through him. I have a couple of his guitars but Im not sure Id drop 2-3k+ on his work. Hes talented but to say hes flaky would be an understatement.
