That's my bass. I just bought an Excel from Elzie, so I am 1 over my bass limit! To preserve my marriage this has got to go. It's a great bass.

Well I guess for you guys in the states it may seem kind of high in price. But the rarety of these instruments appearing for sale, the seller may have more interest if he/she accepted bids from the UK and EEC countries.

Many times I've seen fantastic alembics for sale at what I would consider good prices on ebay but not for shipping to the UK.

ho hum.

Jazzyvee- I took your advice and opened it up to sell worldwide. We'll see what happens.

Hi Mike!

Just wondered if you had a figure yet for how much it would cost to send this bass to the UK?

It sure looks like a beauty!! Don't think I've seen an Elan for sale in the UK during my (somewhat limited!) searches.

Cheers!

Ben- The best I could tell is shipping via USPS would be about $125

I've seen a couple for sale here one was a red 4 stringer and the other was a 6 stringer that I went to look at but it had a crack where the headstock laminates join the neck. Shame because if it wasn't for that I'd have bought it.

well Precarius, great news you managed to sell, and interestingly you got two bid from Europe, France & Italy.

All the best, I was very tempted to bid myself and made sure I was out of the house near the closing time as I have to discipline myself to save for a series bass.

Nice job! Got a couple of coins for that one to help your new purchase. Hope the other half doesn't pressure you into selling that too!

Jazzyvee- Thanks. I was surprised someone from Europe didn't get it since the dollar seems to be pretty cheap now. Actually the winning bid was only $8 more than the next highest bid.

Yes you are right the pound is quite strong at the moment and I'm hoping the right series bass appears on ebay for the right price soon while the exchange rate is still good.
