I'm going for this for my bass player. We will then have identical Flaming Vs. Wish us luck!

Thought I'd post a little update-

Won this bass for my bassplayer (he doesn't have an ebay account) on December 3rd. Had a buddy in Germany who took delivery of the bass and shipped it to me. He went to 4 different shippers and found that UPS offered the best price at $380!! Crazy, but given the rarity my buddy said go for it. What a noble effort to bring an American handmade back to the states.

The bass shipped via UPS on Dec 19 and was in the states on the 22nd. Customs at UPS Worldport held the bass until Jan 2nd. It arrived and the original case had a nice golfball size hole which thankfully went into the strap compartment. The case weighs twice as much as the bass and is way to big for the design. I guess this explains the shipping fees.

The thing kicks major butt-very very long, and an excellent match for my own 83 Tremelo V. The neck is flanked by graphite along the body wings which are burl maple top and back over Honduran mahogany core. The neck itself is 2 piece flamed maple, two graphite laminates and a paduak inner laminate. Straight grained Brazillian board, Badass II bridge, Barts with a phase switch! This is the only Flaming V bass with the rosewood "clownlip" inlays around the pickups.

Steve at Moonstone makes some very cool stuff...I'm waiting on my Earth Axe to be finished at the moment. Here are a few pics-this bass is 9004 which makes it the fourth of six Moonstone Flaming V basses ever made before the original woodshop fell victim to arson. I'll try to get some more detailed pics soon!
