I am thinning the collection and putting these on ebay this weekend, and wanted to give "the club" first dibs. The Alembic is a Elan s/n 90H6089. Well cared for, looks and plays great, OHSC. $1290. The Warrior is a neck through in the most eye-popping flame maple I have ever seen on an instrument. Light and fast. $1100. Please email for more info. Thanks a bunch. Cary- If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the Warrior? I sold one just like it on consignment at Action Music in Charlotte,NC in about 1997. Just wondering if it's the same bass. Mike |

Mike, I bought it on ebay from a guy in Milwaukee. As I am in nearby Hickory, that would have been a cool coincidence if it had been yours. BTW, I got around to the listing tonight, and the Warrior sold in minutes. The Elan is still available at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:31&item=190068102005 Thanks for the interest, and here's my wishes for a safe and prosperous 2007. Cary: I just looked at your ebay listing: "String-thru"???? There seems to be quite the Alembic contingent in NC, headed by our own imitable Dave Houck. One of these days I'll get over to that part of the country. My brother moved to Hickory 2 or 3 years ago. You don't go to a dentist from New York by any chance? Bill, tgo |

Yikes! I missed the "string-thru", probably an artifact from listing it the same night as the warrior, which is. It was supposed to say "neck-thru". Thanks for the catch. I contacted the buyer after I read this, hopefully there isn't a problem. No matter how often you proof read... Dentist? What's a dentist? No, seriously though, mine's a local, although I'm from NY. Go figure. Cary |
