NLP pmoran Intermediate Member Username: pmoran Post Number: 187 Registered: 12-2004 Posted on Friday, January 05, 2007 - 5:30 pm:    is it just me and my half-century old eyes, or is the headstock slightly bent toward the E string side of the neck? i've bought alot of alembics. i think i've owned between 5-7 of them; however, i can't ever recall seeing an "optical illusion" that made me believe the headstock is off-center to the neck on any ebay ad pic before! could be the power of suggestion since seller admits to a repair, but i swear that headstock is skewed off-center in the pic from the back. i've looked closely to see if the purpleheart laminate looks out of line, but there's a flashpoint obscuring where i think it would be. thoughts? bsee Senior Member Username: bsee Post Number: 1436 Registered: 3-2004 Posted on Friday, January 05, 2007 - 5:39 pm:    $3K for a headstock repair is a bit much, straight or not... inthelows Advanced Member Username: inthelows Post Number: 263 Registered: 11-2006 Posted on Friday, January 05, 2007 - 5:39 pm:    It is hard to tell from those pics! "I acquired the bass five years ago, and the repair was done two years ago. As I said in the listing, the bass is not new, perfect, excellent, mint, or in very good condition. The brass needs to be polished. That is the only cosmetic issue, and other than that the bass is in good working order." I don't know about this one! NLP
