Have a look at this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alembic-Stanley-Clarke_W0QQitemZ130066218206QQihZ003QQcategoryZ87492QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Am I right in thinking this guy is selling pictures of Alembics, taken from this site, on eBay?? I'm not sure this is illegal (the pictures are freely downloadable from here anyway - I've had Stanley's custom as my wallpaper for the last few months) but it sure as hell can't be fair . . . after all, Mica must have spent a good bit while putting these COTM pics together, and for somebody to be making an easy buck off the back of her work seems pretty unfair to me. Just thought I'd share that. K. |

Even if they are freely downloadable that doesn't mean they aren't covered under a copyright which would preclude commercial use of the photo's without permission. Keith (Message edited by keith_h on January 09, 2007) |

I'm sure it's illegal... it is a significant difference if you use these wallpapers for your own private computer (that's what the files are intended for, I think) or you use them in a commercial way, especially sell them without obtaining the copyright or even ask for permission. Seller located in Germany, huh ??? I'll report that to eBay immediately. have fun, y'all out there, Christain |

Yep - a little red x in the corner, and the right-click-show-picture thing doesn't retrieve it. Peter |

Alembic's COTM archive - From the opening Alembic page, click on "Custom Archive", just below the picture of the COTM, then scroll down and click on "December 2004, Dragon's Breath". The actual picture is not coming up for me. Other COTM pictures are. Bill, tgo |

That's what I did and everything is working fine for me. I am using the latest Firefox browser. Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Keith |

That's freaky - it worked for me when it was published. Anyway, I uploaded the picture again, and it seems to work now. Thanks for telling me about the problem. It's silly, but I have to write to everyone that tries to sell stuff that has our copyright or infringes on our trademark. I guess I've got another letter to write, thanks again for alerting me. |

What another kind of nonsense this auction. If you can download the pic as wallpaper you can also send it to your printer. Why buying at Ebay? Harald |
