Hello, Everybody,

With great sadness, I believe I will be posting my wonderful Silverburst Les Paul Custom for sale :-(
A little history on this on one, I personally sold this Guitar to the original owner when I worked at a Dayton music store when I was a kid, and saw it for sale about 1985-6 in another store and bought it, so I've had it for over 20 years. At the time., I was doubling on guitar and Bass, so I used it in a few bands in the mid 80's, but it has remained largely in the case since then, as I pretty well decided I wanted to be a Bass Player when I grow up!
The Guitar is in, for it's age, 90% plus condition. It is a rare stamped factory 2nd, due to a very minute black overspray in the silver @ the top, but unless you look, you never notice it. It has a few SMALL dings in the front, a few little buckle smudges on the back, and the normal small dings on the headstock. Nothing through to the wood, no wear marks, chrome is bright, not tarnished, and has the Gibson/Shaller (I think) pegwinder tuning keys. It is all original X-cept for the Shaller Straplocks and the pickup selector plastic knob I had to replace a few years back. It is, literally, the one everybody hopes to find that has been sitting in the OHSC under a bed for 20 years!! ( the case is also in great shape)Oh, and ,by the way, she plays and sounds SCHWEEEEET!
The serial # is 82961537, which makes it being stamped on Oct. 23, 1981.
I really don't want to sell on e-bay, so I thought I'd give my Alembic guitar slinger family first shot. I'd prefer to sell it locally, and would drive a reasonable distance to meet someone to complete the transaction, but would consider all options.
The last book value I saw on this was around $3500, less $150 for the factory 2nd, but I've had dealers say that really makes no difference. I will accept $3000 for her.
If anyone has a serious interest in this exceptional axe, shoot me an e-mail. I plan on taking it to the Ohio Vintage Guitar show in Columbus this sunday, so let me know quick!
I really don't want to sell her, but, she deserves to be played, and I just MAY owe a Forida Music Store a LOT of money on a piece that MIGHT JUST BE waiting on production ;), and this would go a long way on paying that off!!
Thanks, Mike (The 'Ho...) P.S. I'll e-mail pics to interested parties...
