What's wrong with this one? As far as I can tell, it's perfectly legal to sell a couple pieces of paper that you own. They may not have particular value, but to what do you object here? |

I just wonder to what extent people will sell anything with the name Alembic on it to make a buck. That's all! Bad enough some hack selling alembic wallpaper of COTM on ebay but to sell the build record separately from the instrument just amazes me. That's " What's wrong with this one?" bsee. I don't know if it's wrong or not. To each their own. I'm simply expressing my opinion. I'm not trying to offend anyone or impede capitolism. Not to mention how the information is covered up, but, I don't know if copyright issues are here or not. I haven't seen this done before, like this anyway, and sets up a strange precedent for the sale of this sort on ebay. This attempt was also to serve as a notice to members that the documentation was available to the new owner. Sold Nov 2005. If you bought an Alembic at that time and did not have the build record with it, this may belong to you. If you want it the seller indicates contact him. This concludes my public service announcement. Like Radar said.."That is all"! NLP (Message edited by inthelows on January 14, 2007) (Message edited by inthelows on January 14, 2007) |

Well, it's very common for people to offer things like copies of magazine ads for sale. There is certainly no copyright issue here at all and the paperwork "belongs" to the seller if he did not specifically sell it with the bass in 2005. As such, there's just no issue here to get bent out of shape about. There are a lot of scammers out there. Alembic definitely needs to keep on top of protecting their name and copyrights. I applaud anyone who takes the time to contact Alembic about such issues, or to post here about them. The theft of images and the marketing of counterfeit instruments are crimes that need to be addressed. I originally responded just because I didn't want to leave your thread hanging out there with no love... |
