I agree with Keavin, ebay has a few models going
now. Do a search for alembic and you should catch
at least 5-6 types being offered.
You can also try the for sale threads using this site's search feature at the top right corner.
Happy hunting.

Hi, I have an Orion 5 string for sale. I am the original owner (purchased in 2000) and it comes with the OHSC. It is in excellent condition with no playing issues or major body dings. Some very minor light, shallow surface scratches on the back. $1600 shipped.Orion 5

I would love this guitar. I have never played a five before. I have always stuck to a four. Besides that I am trying to spend under $1400. Is the bottom four strings the same as a four string bass. Is the top string the added string. thanks Ken

Most commonly strung lo BEADG but could be strung lo EADGC . That would be up to your preference. The neck may be a little wider than your used to but not uncomfortable. For a few dollars more you have more tonal options.

Ken:

FWIW the bass player in my band was playing a Fender Jazz. About 4 months ago I stumbled upon a 5 string Epic with a superb flame walnut top for a song on craigslist (the "extra" string being a B below the E). I grabbed it and let him have it to spec. At that point he had only tried a 5 string briefly and felt completely confused by it. He took the Epic home for a week and came back to rehearsal in love. He quickly got used to, and loves, the low B. And I love hearing the sound of his bass (through an SF-2 and an old Traynor).
