That looks like the real deal. The decal below the emblem looks like Mica's mom creation spelled out "spoiler". 1982 sounds about the right time frame. Another thread came up a while back about the same decal issue. Seems some fakes have been reported. Best to check the serial number to be sure if anyone's thinking of going for it.IMHO. NLP |

AFAIK, the fakes are never in the Spoiler shape. Most fakes with the rub-on lettering seem to be very poor P-bass copies, and there's a picture of a super-strat model here on the club that one might mistake for a California Special - if not for the lack of build quality. Another hint is that there are only two Alembic models that actually had the model name on the peghead - earliest Spoiler with the decals, and 20th Anniversary with the script in bronze - whereas the fakes have the model name printed.
