Any guess on what that is just north of the p/up selector?

Maybe a led that indicates the preamp is active?
I've send an email to the seller, there's no info on the electronics in the ad.

Could this one be prepared for a Series upgrade?
But the picture is quite blurry, so it could also just be a stick-on dummy dummy-HC for visual appeal.

As far as I can tell from the pictures, the leds appear to be a www.fretfx.com led array. They seem to be attached to the side of the fingerboard, which is why you can see them clearly on the frontal image of the bass. That's not a bad thing per se 'cause those leds are great, but it's a completely different league compared to Alembic (or Sims) leds. If these are indeed fretfx leds, the seller should have mentioned that.

I had assumed the second toggle to be LED on/off. If those are FretFX, that wouldn't be the case - any reply from the seller, Flip?

Got a reply, he only confirmed the Hum canceller is a dummy.
I asked him again about the mysterious led (?) and the 2nd switch.

She's a beauty ey

The leds are indeed fretFX, the led next to the pickup selector is just that... a led.. no function at all, the 2nd switch switches the led that does nothing... hmmm... neat!
The seller is asking a fair price for a Spoiler in good condition, I'm trying to decide for myself if I concider this to be a Spoiler in good condition...
I love the top and it would be a great bass to update to Series in the future but, something tells me I should just wait for an Elan to cross my path...

Flip, wait for the Elan as Spoiler's bodies are'nt thick enough to accept Series Electronics. Although you might be able to add another filter and "Q" switch in the future.

Spoilers to thin? Jason Newsted did play a series 2 equipped Spoiler, I thought it was a "standard" Spoiler (or Persuader) that was modified...?

Thanx for the advice!

Saw the pic of Jason's Spoiler you posted. It had to be custom made to fit those electronics in there. I had a Distillate I wanted to upgrade to Series and Mica informed the body was too thin.
