It sold at $2000 BIN!

Too bad... I would have like to have had the chance to restore it with some TLC.

Anybody in the club get it?

Poor Alembic.

Never though I'd put those two words together in my head..

Kinda a oxymoron even, like:

Well, it looked real nice but the description was a little scary. The talk of body work scared me, so I wouldn't have taken the plunge without more info/pics. I suspect you're looking at a couple thousand for the repair and you've got a nice Series bass there for a reasonable price. I suspect the $2K will end up being a fair deal if there are no hidden issues.

Check the strap button on the upper horn! Looks like somebody skewered the bass with the oil dipstick off of my Massey Ferguson tractor.

The seller seems willing to discuss the bass- has anyone called and found out the history?

Proceed with caution...he doesn't say why the first b-i-n was cancelled.

Back plate lost? With the PF6 on it?!!?! It must have "fallen" right out of the ribbon cable connector, too.

Ouch.

Hi all,

Saw that bass earlier; what do you think: worth the effort of buying it??

Only after a confirmation call to Mica. I wouldn't go after it without better pictures to show what mods/"repairs" were done and some idea of the cost to get the electronics back to functioning.

bsee,

Already contacted the seller in an effort to gain more (better) pics AND specs concerning repairs etc..
IF i get better pics, perhaps a good idea to post 'em??

Yep, but I wouldn't count entirely on the seller's view of repair costs. He's the one trying to sell you the bass so things could be understated.
