’95 Elan 5 string. S/N 95H8966USA. 5A quilt maple on maple, ebony fingerboard on maple with walnut veneer neck, vol, pan and filter with q-switch, Schaller strap locks and tuners. Was purchased used in 2003 and sent back to Alembic for overhaul. At that time it was refinished in Wineburst, the brass hardware was cleaned up and restored, the bronze Alembic logo and script were replaced with 24k gold versions, the plastic truss rod cover and back plate were replaced with brass versions, the bridge pickup was replaced and I got a new case. Since then, I’ve added FretFX side markers and replaced the bridge pickup with a Fatboy. This bass is CLEAN and sounds AWESOME! There is one, and I mean one ding in the finish. It is between the pickups and doesn’t go through the finish. Priced at $3000.00

Thanks Toby! It's in great shape, a real looker and player! I want it to find a good home, too. I basically quit using it after I got Pinot, in 2004.

Reid,

I''ll be watching how things progress. If it's still available in 4-5 months I'll be in touch.

Gorgeous bass! Is it a 32" or 34" scale?

Hi Wayne,

It is a 34" scale. Thanks for the comment!

Jonno, I appreciate the interest, but Pinot isn't going anywhere! LOL

Check out the Alembic induced euphoric grin below!

The Pinot is definitely awesome looking. I have some gear that will be moving this weekend and will be in touch about the Elan.
Take care,
Wayne

Here's the happy ending to this bass sale - it didn't! I put the old bird up on ebay and it didn't sell there, either. However, 3 basses, a bass cabinet, the remnants of a PA and various effects pedals later, my new Excel 5'er is paid off AND I still have the Elan! Yeah! It's party hats time for me!

Thanks guys, I am really glad it's staying home.

An unintended side affect of selling lots of other stuff, is that I now have room in my music room! LOL!
