This one looks kind of strange like the tip of the headstock has broken off and been filed down. Apparently the electronics don't work either and it is wired passive.....!! I didn't thnk the pickups worked passive??? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140131097410&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:UK:1 |

The headstock is original, probably even standard on Orions. Me too surprised you can run it passive ... obviously only if you bypass the preamp completely. |

I'd say jazzy is right, comparing against my orion-headed rogue, the very tip of the headstock is missing. Graeme |

That was my impression, but it looks pretty clean. It could have been a factory oops that was allowed to go through, or an early design. The only thing that would matter to me about it would be the finish job. If it looks clean and is properly sealed/protected, then it is just a slightly different piece of art. This is a bargain bass without the right guts in it anyway. Rarely does anyone pay Alembic value for a gutted instrument. This will likely be a good value for a great playing piece of wood if you don't mind fiddling with or replacing the guts. |

The peghead is not proper. I do not believe it left the factory in the condition shown. That being said, it's not a mystery on how to sand something smooth, and with the thin finish, a nicely fine sanded Maple edge might not even be noticeable right away in such a small area, even unfinished. |

Ah, now I see - it's a fairly small bit missing there. |
