I don't recall ever hearing of this band. I just read a brief bio; apparently they were writing and playing music similar to Yes.

What do you guys think?

A decent price for this one?

I was just going to order a Superfilter and some other goodies this week.

$3000 seems to be the going rate for an older Series I.
I'd want to see the condition of the frets.

Gary's cover band opened for my band in Champaign,Il. several times. Had a chance to speak with him, and what a cool guy. He had been playing Alembics since the '70's and it was interesting to hear his take on our beloved brand. I wish I'd gotten to know him better.

Thanks Adam!

Tony; given the usual caveats concerning a bass you can't actually see or play in person, with the exception of the selector switch location, this is very similar to my bass; and I really like my bass. So my biased opinion is that I tend to think that it's a very good deal at $3k, usual caveats considered.

There's a thread around here somewhere in which Mica discusses the best method for removing decals.
