I agree. Persuader electronics. There appears to be some wear above the control cover. Personally, I would be concerned about a pawnshop shipping an Alembic without a case. I would love to have a six string classic taper just to get a feel for it. But I'm not buying basses; I need to sell some. |

I got this one. it's the best friend of my 4 Strings 1983 Distillate. I'm now giving it the deserved TLC. One question to anyone: - The fingerboard seams to have some "brown rays" over it. Can Ebony looks like that? or was some other wood used? Thanks Adi |

Yes, indeed: If I remember correctly, Macassar Ebony when NOT stained (if necessary) to that perfect black finish has these 'chocolate' looking stripes running with the grain. Yamaha uses this on their better axes, among others, for a little different look than that straight black appearance. J o e y |

I have a Spoiler in Koa with the same dimentions but with a crown headstock. It is the most stable and consistant of all my basses. You will love the tone and when you get used to the spacing your other bass will feel like a toy (thus enabling you to fly like the dickens!). Congrats, play it in good health and inspiration.
