Yeah, it's definitely one of the prettiest Orion's I recall seeing. The seller seems to be mistaken that the neck is walnut, rather than maple with walnut pinstripes.

It's pretty, for sure, but the price is a little high IMHO. I'm also partial to neck-thru's. Nevertheless, I'm sure this one will make someone very happy, especially if they get it for the $2200 opening bid (which is still on the high side, but a little more reasonable, again, IMHO).

I wonder if it's actually a Baritone.

Yeah, I thought the price was a little high too, but one doesn't often see coco bolo short of a custom. In my opinion, this guitar is prettier than the one featured on the product page for Orion guitars.

EffClef makes a good point. Anyone interested would probably do well to inquire about the scale length, as there seem to be some sellers who are reluctant to divulge that fact.

I wonder if it was purchased direct from Alembic as the paperwork suggests? If so, you could probably have bought it brand new in 2000 for not much more than $2500 through a dealer. I was wondering about the scale length anyway, be it baritone or anything between 24.5" and 25.5".

I'd love to play that beast if the scale is <25.5", but it isn't going to happen. The wood really is gorgeous. There's a MK on eBay right now with some super nice wood as well. Maybe someone will sell a Skylark for cheap money one of these days and I will jump at it. Until then, we can all still look.

I'd want to swap out the electronics too.... the bass & treble +/- dont do a guitar's range any justice.

I'll second what Mike said. My newly restored Orion Baritone benefited greatly from the volume/pan/filter upgrade.
