This looks like a nice bass to me. I love the zebra top and back. I especially LOVE the older finish. BUT!!! Look closely! Someone has changed out the tuning keys to Grover keys. Check it out. I think it came originally with Schaller tuning keys. To fit the Grover keys, the headstock must be drilled out. To put them back to original is not just a direct swap.

Dave, I saw your interest in that Alembic on EBay...if you're still looking for one, I have a Mark King Signature Series 1 4 string that I'm about to put up for sale. I am the original owner and I guarantee you that it has not been modified like someone told you about the one on EBay. Mine is in mint condition (can supply pix etc.) Let me know if you're still looking.
