Hey, guys. I'm interested in getting a used Series I or II bass 4-string. Is anyone looking to get rid of one around here? I'd prefer not to use Ebay is possible, due to the rampant scams. I'd also be interested in a good deal (i.e., I'm not going to pay for a used bass the same price as I could get a new alembic).

The Low End has my old 1980 S1. www.thelowend.net
It's a great bass and sounds phenominal. Might be in your price range, so go and check it out.

I even talked to Brian at The Low End this morning and he verified that it had been sold.

Yeah, somebody saw a great bass and jumped on it. I would have, too.

By the way, I should mention that due to financial restrictions I'm looking for around the $3,000-$4,000 range, if possible. I don't really have the ability to purchase a $7,000-$8,000 instrument right now. But if you're are still interested in parting with a Series let me know. Thanks.

Daniel, only "in case"? What about "in gig-bag"? (rim shot please).

Now is the time to buy one, the market is low. Get the cord and the power supply too, if possible.

Good luck!

Speaking only for myself, Olie, i wouldn't even consider a gig bag for that one!

Peter - who's nervous about using a gigbag on his 30-year-old $150 Alvarez laminated flat-top.

I don't need a gig bag, I'll just settle for a rehearsal bag...

That zebrawood bass didn't even get any bids the last time it was up. I don't get it. Am I the only one that likes zebrawood? If it was a medium scale, I would consider it. If it were a small standard, it would be mine.

It looks great. I'm going to check it out. It is in Boston, so I'm going to try to have a friend up there go check it out in person. It's a great price, too.

I'm not entirely dissappointed that I didn't get it. I still have one option: a 1980 S1.
