How much is this bass worth? Peaople are saying $3000 to $4000. Is this true? If so, I might want to sell it. Any help would be great.... |

Hi Michael and welcome to the Alembic Club, It sounds as though you may have tried to upload a picture but there is nothing to see (when you say "this bass"). Please try again to upload a picture. Here is a link on instructions for picture additions http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/447.html?1022542644. As a newer member of the forum this seems to be what I have learned thus far. Price is certainly a subjective matter. A lot would depend on the condition of the bass, which woods are used and the accessories (necessities) included such as the original case, DS5 power supply and 5 pin XLR cable. On older Series basses there is also an electronics upgrade available that, I believe, can go as high as $1500 if the bass is having noise problems due to RF. Back when these basses were built there was virtually no wireless devices that would interfere with the frequencies and now... well you know. Others I am sure can add more information. I hope that this helps! Regards, Art |

Hello, Michael, and yes, please post pics and any other information you have. My band practices in Schenectady, would it be possible to come by and see the bass at some point? |

I would say that is a fair estimate. While there was a long scale Series 1 on the ebay last week for $2,250. I have also been offered comparative Series 1s in walnut for $7,000-$8,000. Which to me is not a practical price for a used bass, because at $8,000 you start approaching retail for a new base. The $3-4,000 range is a good average price. |

Back when I was talking to Whofradamus about this bass, the cable and power supply were not included. That could also affect the price. |

I'm not sure if that's the same. I think the one that Whofradamus and Adam (2400wattman) is in North Carolina, and Mikey says he is in North Carolina. |

For those interested in the bass, I was told today it was traded in to a music shop in my area. An employee described the bass to me as having replacement tuning machines and extensive but even finish checking throughout the finish. A power supply and cable are included. Interested parties can feel free to e-mail me for info about the store. Please put "Alembic Club" in the subject line so I don't delete messages as spam. I have no interest or connection with the bass or the store, just trying to help out. |
